day 18 = “Crash Course”

Aloha kahako! The title say’s it all. I got my first ego slamdown today when I had to present my game to my team. My 2D Game may have all that I needed but, its not running the way I imagined it would. With that said, was completely embarrassed trying to talk my way through an unfinished product.

Ahhh

I rushed it and I got my first real lesson in time management. I need to focus on what’s in front of me and slow my roll yo! I bunched my work all into one grouping and in doing so it made my code messy and not working properly. Don’t get me wrong, It runs but, would I play it? No! I wouldn’t lol I think I need to really think about that to when working. I need to be interested in the end result. I will make a better product if I’m making something I’d like in the end. I got caught up in the process and ignored the final product. Lesson learned. I’m slowing down and going back to the code line by line to correct what I can.

So far, I’m working on spawning my power-ups in a balanced manner. After that I need to address my more intelligent enemies and make sure they are actually doing what they need to. Most importantly my boss AI is all kapakahi and will do that last. Well sorry to not be the best! I’m learning and need to be easier on myself lol I’ll make ya proud. Keep on reading, much love and mahalo for your support and aloha!
