Day 21 = “Blackjack-We have a winner”
Back at it folks! Had a brief family emergency over the weekend but, all is in order now. Glad to be back to my flow. Let me tell you, Was I surprised when I got up this morning. I signed on to my slack channel and to my astonishment I had been moved to a different team. Also they had assigned me Team Leader! WHOA! Talk about waking you up! It was better then a couple shots of espresso. I then had to figure out a good method to getting my team together for their morning standup. Easy breezy!
You know at first I was a little shaken up that they had put me as lead without asking but to tell you the truth. I am very thankful that they did. I tend to be introverted type of person and if I can keep to myself and get my work done I do. So this opportunity has really made me open up more. My team is small but in the short time that we met the three of them all seem to be amazing individuals. I really look forward to seeing what we can come up with in the weeks to come.
One thing I’d like to mention that I was blown away by was light probes. In the cinematography course we started to learn about light emissions and how to properly illuminate a room. I really cant believe the amount of work and time that goes into getting the right amount of light in a room. You start by creating a light probe group in your hierarchy and then stretch each node to the right position to create the right effect when an object is within its grouping. Looking at the picture above, you can imagine the amount of time someone spends on making their game rock. There is def a science to it and its got me hooked! Cant wait to learn more about it and get some practice in when I start developing my own game.
